Summary: Kurosaki Ichigo is a 15 year old boy that has an ability to see ghosts/spirits. Because of his ability, he is able to meet a female death god (a.k.a Shinigami) named Kuchiki Rukia. To save his family and friends from unwanted soul-eating spirits (Hollows), Rukia transfers her Shinigami powers to Ichigo. As Rukia takes on a human shell, together they solve mysteries involving spirits and hollows until from the spirit world comes 2 other shinigamis explaining that it is illegal to transfer Shinigami powers to humans and Rukia exceeded the time limit to stay in the human world. After they sentence her death for breaking the laws, Ichigo snaps and swears to everyone he will retrieve Rukia by breaking into the spirit world.

This is the anime that I have to thank a Billion times over for getting me hooked (and introducing me) to the marvellous world of anime!! The first episode was enough to fall into its trap of entertainment and ecstasy. Bleach is about a boy, Kurosaki Ichigo, who can see ghosts and through a chain of events becomes a “shinigami”, death god, who has the duty of protecting the living and the dead from Hollows (corrupted and evil souls) and other netherworld nastiest, saving the world of the living and the dead numerous times. The story is able to keep you wrapped-up in it evil slaying splendour. The only problem I can find with the story is the filler, they can be long at times and distracting, but they are also entertaining as no other filler can be. There are so many characters in this story each with its own history and morals. The detail of each character is just… OMG … The whole world that Kubo Tite created is so huge, original and full of detail. The art is so elegant, bloody, cool and, and just so dam BEAUTIFUL. The music always fits and is dead-on when it sets the mood, the dialogue is always perfect. I recommend this anime to EVERYONE!!! And to those who think that this is the end of Bleach… GOD DAM YOU ALL TO THE DEEPEST PITS OF HELL. Beauty is eternal, Bleach will never die.
