| Summary: |
In some distant future, it's common knowledge that all wolves have been extinct for 200 years. However, it seems this is false as wolves have not disappeared but rather have taken human form. Kiba, a lone wolf, wanders into a city, trying to sniff out the Lunar Flowers that are supposed to lead whoever follows the scent to paradise. The source of the smell is Cheza, a girl who sleeps in what appears to be suspended animation in a lab. She and the wolves are drawn to each other, and Kiba hopes to find paradise once he finds the source of the scent of Lunar Flowers. However, once Kiba finds Cheza, she is kidnapped by a mysterious person called Darcia, and his search begins anew. Before he leaves the city, he meets 3 other wolves, Tsume, Hige and Toboe. All four wolves have very different personalities and ideas, and their friendliness towards each other is a little rough around the edges. However, they soon band together to continue to search for paradise. |

Wolf's rain is almost a literary dystopic novel. It talks about, chaos, the end of world and the supernatural world of mysticism and myth. The story is amazing. It discusses hope, friendship, betrayal, belief and courage. The characters have real depth to them and it showcases the best and the worst of humanity and expresses deep desire and compassion for the human existence. This anime is not for everyone. It has real mature content and it can be more than a tad bit depressing, but it is worth it.
Recommended to mature anime otaku who are tired ( read more)

It is my favorite anime show of all time. I was fascinated by post apocalyptic fiction in the story. It have very deep, poetic and sad moments. The end of WR is open - ended and leaves us to interpret on our own. As Aalways Yoko Kanno composed an outstanding soundtrack. Wolfs Rain is for all time and all ages.

this is one of the anime that i kinda just watched because it was there, but ended up becomming hooked and really interested in!
wolfs rain is basically a story of a world that has started to decay, and the main characters who search for "paradise" within it, while others have given up hope of it ever existing.
it has very heavy overtones, with characters in it having experienced betrayal, and holding onto one last bit of hope, but thats what makes it so good to watch.
you get really caught up in the emotions of the characters, so its something ( read more)

i am currently only 6 episodes in to this series and am completely hooked on it! it's definitely one of the most original series i have ever seen - one that i can not only get totally lost in, but that i can relate to on many levels..... i really dig the wisdom in this series; it's not like the usual eastern philosophical stuff that you find in other anime..... paired with great artwork and music, and created with impeccable taste, i highly recommend this to those who are looking for an anime series that goes off the beaten track.... you will not ( read more)

I love this anime, i really do. It has a great story line, great characters, not to mention great music, i own both OVA cd's. Anyway, it's easy to get into watching this anime, its got action, love, drama, tragedy. I'm not ashamed to admit, the ending of this anime made me sad. Dont watch this on PC speakers, use earbuds or HDMI to hook up to your tv to get the full effect from music and sound effects. :)

If I were forced to choose One anime in the whole,I had no doubt to shout this anime's name.this IS great!For real!no one can say a word in negetive!The story and thoughts backing it up are heavier than what you'd expect of an anime.and fortuntely te animting studio which accepted this project were aware of it and has put its whole force to show us a grat anime.it really is great.

This is an excellent anime~! I Went Crazy Looking for some place to watch it~! i remember watching this when i was little on cartoon network~! i absolutely loved it~! and now i can download and watch it when ever i want~! plus its Awesome that its complete~! Could life Get Any better~?! ^_^

If I were to summarize this show in one word I would call it unique. The main characters are all fun to watch, and the plot of the show is hard to compare to other series because of the distinct storyline. Mix in some drama and action and you have a recipe for a fun time. I recommend the show to action fans that like stories that are a little complex (Darker than Black-esque stuff).
