| Summary: |
One night in 2006, when they were young, the two brothers Mutta (born 1993) and Hibito (born 1996) saw what appeared to be a UFO heading for the moon. They decided that night to both become astronauts and travel out into space.
In 2025, Hibito has become an astronaut, and he's going to go to the moon. Mutta ended up following a more traditional career path with an auto development company. However, Mutta just ruined his career through a violent altercation with his boss. Now, not only has he lost his job, he appears to be blacklisted in the entire industry. Maybe this is a rare opportunity for Mutta to once again chase his childhood dream and become an astronaut like his little brother!
The manga was nominated for the 2nd and 3rd Manga Taisho Award and won the 56th Shogakukan Manga Award and 35th Kodansha Manga Award in the General Category. |

It is a bit late for me knowing this great series. The real sci-fi series and easy to be accepted... The humour is clever and genius you would laugh in every scene. This series have a good music arrangement too, i'll give it 9 of 10 for the music.. soooo space-like music, it's suits the mood and bring us to "uchuu" and dream atmosphere.

This anime is for anyone who loves astronomy, Science, Comedy & Ambitions!! I was a little worried about the drawing initially as the characters are not the typical flower boys that you see in other animes. However, the story is so strong.. the 20mins just whizz past you every single episode. It brought me so much laughter, tears and reignited my dream of becoming an astronaut. Although it is still seem quite impossible for me but this anime really provide an insight as to how to go about becoming one. My FAVOURITE TO DATE! A MUST WATCH FOR EVERYONE. ( read more)

Such a good story...... Man, Maybe one of the best "Slice of life" anime ever....
Starting with Mutta-san, the rejected intellect.... We go on through his life, all the highs and lows, while he envies his little brother, who has already a hell more popular than he is...
Yet, he grabs on to the chances that life offer...
Excellent points at a few places....
"Luck is what you make out of it".... such a great dialogue :)
If you are searching for a "slice of life" anime, then this is surely not a one to misss :)

Realistic and very unique characters. A great plot that never bores you. It doesn't matter what genre is your favorite, if you enjoy good storytelling, this is for you.
