This will always be one of my favourite stories, and I am re-reading the manga at the moment. The storyline can be unexpectedly heavy at times, and each of the characters has a backstory that is both relevant AND part of the overall arc. It shows the negative emotions and actions of adults very well, especially through the eyes of a "child".

I would definitely recommend that anyone who likes this anime to read the manga.

the animation is beautiful. there's still a lot of unanswered questions but hopefully there will be another season to provide more insight (or you could read the manga). you have to keep an open mind since there are some same-sex relationships but there's only kissing (no sex scenes) and it's very sweet. my only complaint is the annoying classmate, yuiko (she has pink hair), because she's a high-pitched ditz but i guess every anime needs one lol
