| Summary: |
Akitsu Masanosuke is a timid ronin on his way to Edo from the countryside when he accidentally encounters a playboy named Yaichi, who asks him to be his bodyguard. But it turns out that Yaichi is actually the leader of a group of bandits called the "Five Leaves," and he's hoping that Masanosuke will join them. Masanosuke is reluctant to help them, but as grows closer to his eccentric new companions, he learns to relate to them and grow as a person in the process. |

Visuals were mind blowing, it has a glare that keeps you hooked for 4-5 episodes, Every little detail visually just made it appealing to watch. The story while good and i see a lot of thought has been put in to; is not anything mind blowing. In fact if this anime dragged any longer it would be pretty trashy, it ended perfectly

This series is very unique. From the artwork to the storyline everything is not what you would see in "any other anime". I'm not saying that everyone will like it or that it should be "number 1". But I feel that it is worth seeing because it's so different from what we all watch nowadays. The characters all have their own storys and the main character is cute (yes I said cute) the way he is so shy. If you like this I also recomand the manga series.

when i first saw the drawing of the anime i thought it was a bit strange but i continued watching and it was simply wonderful. i think the story is very sad, funny and interesting but anyway you shall all watch it i so recommend it so much (^v^) + i liked all the characters, each one them has a hidden story from the past...so interesting.

this anime is good but a little bit boring, it doesn't have any action part, and only dialogues from beginning till the end. Story: is about a group of thief doing crimes, that's all. Luckily this anime is only 12 episode...

I started watching this because I am a fan of Edo period animes, and having watched some such as Rurouni Kenshin, Peacemaker Kurogane, Samurai Champloo, Samurai 7, ext., I welcomed this with an open mind, and it was well appreciated. They open with an oddly modern techno-ish opening, which goes beautifully with the opening theme song, and then it takes you into this plot that couldn't have been imagined easily.
This is an anime that doesn't center around the main character. It has set main characters, but it also heavily looks into the back-stories ( read more)

I was shocked to see such a difference in the art style it was so refreshing being a huge fan of samurai animes
it goes to show you that you don't need a bunch of high tech computer graphics to make something beautiful, the story is amazing and you will get stuck watching. just like i did.

Beautiful and expressive. I find this a light series, that is quick to draw you in, with its likeable characters, and great animation. I found myself pondering "what exactly would I do, when faced with the right decision or a simple easy way out??"
great for a rainy afternoon and the ost is awsome! =-P

I started to watch this anime having very low expectations, but I was wrong, this is a great anime, good story, it does not have a lot of action but the characters are quite deep, with a lot of background. And even though the character drawings are not the best I have seen the background drawings are very detailed and animated. The way the story progress is very interesting and makes you want to see another episode... in 3 words: I love it.
