| Summary: |
Among the seaside town of Izu's ocean waves and rays of shining sun, Iori Kitahara is just beginning his freshman year at Izu University. As he moves into his uncle's scuba diving shop, Grand Blue, he eagerly anticipates his dream college life, filled with beautiful girls and good friends. But things don't exactly go according to plan. Upon entering the shop, he encounters a group of rowdy, naked upperclassmen, who immediately coerce him into participating in their alcoholic activities. Though unwilling at first, Iori quickly gives in and becomes the heart and soul of the party. Unfortunately, this earns him the scorn of his cousin, Chisa Kotegawa, who walks in at precisely the wrong time. Undeterred, Iori still vows to realize his ideal college life, but will things go according to plan this time, or will his situation take yet another dive? |

So, I have a theory; the creator/s of this storyboard named it 'Grand Blue', then designed the intro with images of diving under the ocean...then got High on weed - while writing the actual story. I swear, nothing in the episodes (up to episode 4 at least, which is where I stopped watching) has anything to do with diving! Or Water! Or having fun as a group of rag-tag friends like what you are lead to believe.
If I had to sum up the themes so far it would be excessive alcohol, peer pressure, men naked when not funny, decorating a bedroom 5 times ( read more)

well i think i dont need to say this, but this is the best comedy anime i ever watch !!!
the joke is make me laugh and rewatch it again and again.. character design is really good that make the romance looks sweet.. and the story about diving is good that make me want to try diving...
well many comedy anime on this world but i think this is one of the best!!
