Yukito Kunisaki is on a journey, seeking a girl with wings who flies in the sky, as mentioned in a childhood tale. During this journey, he settles down in a small town, trying to make some money. There, he meets a strange girl named Misuzu. Misuzu quickly makes Yukito her friend and invites him to stay with her. Yukito decides to stay in the small town, and continue searching for the winged girl his mother had searched for in her life. |

This was sad. Unbelievably sad. And you'd think it would be happy at the start. But yes, they lie. In good way though, turns out to be a very good anime, with lovely soundtracks. However make sure to start a comedy after this.

while the animation was excellent (to be expected!), the actual plot wasn't that great. the story was slow, the ending was confusing, the characters were minimal and still not as developed as they could have been (extremely disappointing given that there were so few characters). all in all, it was enjoyable but could have been much better in terms of the actual storyline and characters.

This anime was a little letdown :s
Compared to is younger siblings ("Kanon" and "Clannad"), Air was too weak. Maybe because the number of epi was only 12, but still the story was not even half of Kanon or Clannad.
There weren't many characters, and the ones who where there, were nothing special. Not even the main character.
The story is a little tricky to understand, even i didn't catch up everything, i think the ending was too quick, and they basically tried to put a long story in only 3 epi, leaving a lot of doubts and questions!

Fortunately, is good to see that the animes produced from Key are really evolving. 1st Air, that in my opinion was a little weak; 2nd Kanon, good but could be better; 3rd Clannad, my personal favorite, one of the very 1st animes i've saw, and with the most moving story i've ever seen; 4th Clannad After Story, in the same level as Clannad, this anime make me CRY!!! Really, i just love it, the characters, the story, especially the ending...
Soo i think the next anime (Clannad type) produced from Key, will be equally or even better than the last ones ^^
In the end, i won't tell anyone to not see this anime, but it's nothing extraordinary, if you're a fan of Clannad or Kanon, you should see this anime, if you're not, FOR CHRIST SAKE! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! GO SEE CLANNAD NOW, AND THEN YOU SHOULD SEE AIR LOL ;) ( show less)

The first half of the anime is somewhat slow because it focuses on character development. The last half is where the series starts picking up and that's where the real story kicks in. Even though this anime is suppose to be a tear jerker, I didn't end up crying (or tearing up for the matter). Overall, I found this series to be entertaining but the story was just too "supernatural" for my taste. Though, the music for this anime is great, very fitting depending on the atmosphere.

This anime is for you, by the end of it if your not weeping like baby in hysterics then your a true man, the show followed its story quite strictly but it really is enjoyable to watch, the animation is pretty good for the time it was made and the voice acting is bearable, definitely recommend if your into a heart breaker.
