The Curse of the 13 Episode Long Anime.

My friends and I have a theory that all anime that are 13 episodes long have some sort of heartbreaking or infuriating ending. We have named it 'The Curse of the 13 Episode Long Anime'. Sola is no exception.
I found and AMV online of the anime and it looked promising. The style was attractive, the story looked interesting and the animation was good, so I was enticed into watching the anime. After all it's only a short little anime, right? You can't possibly get ridiculously attached to characters in that short space of time, right? WRONG.
Our story begins with a fairly generic anime boy. He's not got a very inspiring character but you can't complain about him as he's fairly agreeable. Generic anime boy meets short moe, tomato juice drinking, hat wearing anime girl kicking something (something all anime should begin with!) We also discover boy has a sister who looks nothing like him at all... but we'll let that slide. Boy rescues Hat Moe girl and they have a nice little time with on of the most adorable pairings EVER. Then episode 6 strikes and the plot-line arrives.
You see, episodes 1-6 the anime is some sort of romantic comedy and then becomes some horrific romance drama between Generic anime boy, Moe Hat girl and... Sister that shouldn't be boys sister?
Fortunately for us sane Otaku's it's more about sibling love not incest love which is good because... well... I'm not going to lie incest isn't cute. Knock it off you strange pro-incest fan-girls! (Although twincest is a different matter completely! P:)
The plot spirals into a depressing pit of darkness until the end and, of course, because you fell in love with the characters in episodes 1-6, you have to see it through till the bitter end.
Like I said the animation is very attractive if not a little simplistic at times. But not lazy. There isn't particularity much violence but when there is it is exciting and character designs and personality's are good.
The plot isn't particularity mind blowing but it makes a statement enough and is excellent considering it's such a short anime.
And the depressing ending? It's worth it. It's endearing and bitter-sweet not horrific and hearbreaking.
Over all it's a very enjoyable anime that is definitely worth watching!
