Tamers is a new take on Digimon with a touch of realism. All characters are nuanced and develop over the course of the story. The series was written by the writer of Serial Experiments Lain, and parallels can be drawn between the two. This series is overall more psychological than the other Digimon series. The fewer main characters than Adventure allow Tamers to look into its characters with far more depth than the other series, which is good since Digimon series always have been somewhat character driven. Like Adventure it starts slow but escalates in scale and pace over the whole run.
