Three comments for those who are fans of Blood+ and those that might have gave up on Blood-C after the first episode or two.
I've read, here and elsewhere, complaints about Saya being a human in this series. I'm @ ep. 5 and I'm pretty sure it going to turn out she is NOT a human. In fact it seems like she's even having crazy violent flashbacks much like Saya in Blood+. It also seems like her clumsy/ditsy side is taking a backseat to her more intense side (which I'm very glad to see!).
I personally think the fighting scenes so far have a great style and great animation. They may even be a little more violent/bloody than Blood+. The preview for ep. 6 looks like it will have some pretty intense fighting too.
According the thetvdb.com it looks like Blood-C will not have an ep this week and future episodes will be airing on Thursday instead of Friday.
Give it a chance :).
